For hotel owners preparing a refurbishment or reviewing suppliers, an exhibition visit needs a purpose beyond discovering new products. EquipHotel Paris 2026, running from 2 to 5 November, brings design, foodservice, wellbeing and technology suppliers into one professional event. The business opportunity is to compare how a proposed purchase would work inside an operating property.
Start with the operating problem
The organiser positions the show for decision-makers including investors, operators, procurement teams and designers. Its published focus includes capital projects, purchasing and operational efficiency. Our recommendation is to translate that broad agenda into a short list of property-specific decisions before arriving.
A hotel replacing bedroom furniture has different priorities from one reviewing kitchen equipment or guest-facing software. Define the problem, the budget range, the implementation window and the people who will use the purchase. That brief provides a more useful basis for supplier meetings than a general request for innovation.
Compare lifetime costs, not only quotations
For a physical product, the quoted unit price is only one part of the decision. Buyers can request delivery and installation terms, maintenance requirements, replacement-part availability, warranty exclusions and the process for handling faults.
These are purchasing questions, not claims that a particular exhibitor offers any specified guarantee. Written answers make competing proposals easier to compare. They also help separate a visually appealing product from one that fits a hotel’s staffing, storage and maintenance arrangements.
Technology needs an implementation test
The official programme lists HITEC Paris and the Commercial Strategy Forum Paris on Thursday 5 November. The former addresses hospitality technology; the latter, organised by HSMAI Europe, covers commercial strategy, marketing, distribution and revenue management.
For technology meetings, ask for a demonstration built around a real workflow: a booking change, a guest request, a staff handover or a report required by management. Clarify which functions are included, which require additional subscriptions, and what happens when a connection or integration fails.
Data export, staff training, migration and ongoing support belong in that discussion. An attractive interface does not establish a return on investment. Any forecast should state its assumptions and distinguish measurable savings from expected benefits.
Keep commercial and guest priorities connected
Purchasing decisions also affect the experience a property sells. A lower-maintenance material may change the look of a room; a new digital process may remove an administrative task while introducing another step for guests.
We suggest involving both an operational user and a budget holder in shortlisted decisions. Where appropriate, agree a limited trial with documented objectives before a wider rollout. This is an editorial buying framework, not an assertion that every exhibitor provides trials.
Turn the visit into a supplier shortlist
After each meeting, record the proposed solution, total quoted cost, unresolved questions and next action. Separate decisions that can be taken with existing evidence from those requiring samples, technical checks or revised terms. A concise shortlist is more actionable than an unstructured collection of brochures.
